Celeste Taylor of Point Breeze (TOP) and Renee Wilson Gray of the North Side (BOTTOM) protests Downtown on Wednesday evening after Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen A. Zappala Jr. announced he will not prosecute three Pittsburgh police officers accused of beating Jordan Miles during a 2010 arrest.

Bridget Re, 15, a freshman at Winchester-Thurston, works on the bleachers at a North Braddock ball field on Tuesday afternoon. Heritage Community Initiatives has received several grants, including $25,000 from the Buhl Foundation and $5,000 from the Pittsburgh Pirates, to rehabilitate the ball field that was built in the 1920s. Some students from Winchester-Thurston, a Shadyside private school, have been volunteering to help rehabilitate the field in various ways, including cleaning, painting, landscaping, fixing the bleachers, and many other things.
