Police and emergency responders are silhouetted against a train that collided with a tractor-trailer Thursday night along East Main Street in East Pittsburgh. Police said the collision occurred about 8:45 p.m. when a Norfolk Southern train pushed at least part of the tractor-trailer several hundred yards along the track. Another train going in the opposite direction also then struck the tractor-trailer, crunching the between both trains. Preliminary reports from Turtle Creek police indicate that the truck driver and his passenger were able to escape before the collision.
