A standoff in East Liberty ended peacefully Sunday night when two men surrendered to police. The Pittsburgh Police SWAT team was called out to a house on Rippey Street where a suspect or suspects who may have shot a teenager nearby were believed to be hiding this evening, dispatchers said. The shooting occurred near North Euclid Street just before 5:45 p.m., and a teenage male was taken to UPMC Presbyterian with gunshot wounds to the back and arm. Witnesses told police that two men matching the suspected shooters' descriptions ran into a house in the 5800 block of Rippey Street, and SWAT personnel were responding to the scene by 6 p.m. The standoff ended about 7:55 p.m. when the two men came out of the house.
