Firefighters battle a fire at the Roosevelt Arms Apartments in the 600 block of Penn Avenue, Downtown on Thursday evening. The fire, that left residents rushing to the street, also took the life of Richard Snyder, 73, who died in UPMC Mercy hospital despite resuscitation efforts by firefighters and paramedics who pulled him from his apartment on the ninth floor of the building.
