Katherine Bomkamp, a high-school student-- now a sophomore at West Virginia University--who at 16 came up with a medical device known as the "Pain Free Socket" that relieves phantom limb pain for amputees. The device is currently patent-pending, and Katherine has been speaking with a national prosthetics company about buying the licensing rights.
