McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine announced Tuesday during a conference at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall and Museum, that it was awarded a $12 million contract to support human studies of novel treatments for battlefield injuries and scars. One of the projects involves the use of a calcium phosphate cement to fill defects and regenerate bone in the skull.
