Brendan Cruz, 6, a student at Carnegie Mellon University’s Cyert Center for Early Education Program for Collaborative Learning works on building a clay bridge as part of a challenge designed to coincide with National Engineers Week Feb. 20-26. "While it is very exciting to see how young children are able to design and build a bridge using clay and wire, what is most exciting to us is the way that young children are able to collaborate. This is what is truly exciting...children building skills and dispositions that will last a lifetime," says Judy Abrams, Program Director at the center.
